My name is Taniya, and I am the proud mother of a four-year-old son named King, who is on the autism spectrum. Becoming his mother has been one of the most beautiful and challenging journeys of my life. Along the way, I was told that my son would probably be nonverbal and that I should begin looking into alternative forms of communication for him. Hearing that was difficult, and for a while, I quietly grieved the idea I once had of what life would look like raising my son.
But King has continued to show me just how powerful and unique his voice truly is. Today, at four years old, he uses so many words and phrases that once felt impossible. Like many children on the spectrum, he still has moments of frustration and tantrums when he cannot fully communicate what he needs. During those moments, I am reminded how important patience, understanding, and support are…. not just for our children, but for us as mothers.
There have been times when I’ve chosen to keep my son close to me because I feared the world might not give him the love, patience, and grace that I know he deserves. And through this journey, I have learned that many mothers of children on the spectrum carry those same fears, tears, and quiet worries while pouring endless love into their babies every single day.
Because of that, I want to create a safe space and supportive community for moms raising children on the spectrum. A space where we can be honest about our challenges, celebrate every milestone… big or small and remind one another that we are not alone in this journey.
This space is about love, support, encouragement, and community. It’s about creating an outlet where mothers can uplift one another, share resources, celebrate victories, and remind each other that our children are capable, beautiful, and deserving of every opportunity in this world.
Together, we can create a village where moms feel seen, heard, and supported… while raising children who are uniquely brilliant in their own ways.
We’ve got this. And so do our babies.
